The aim of this study is to know the value of mechanical properties by look, size, absorption and pressure test of the perforated brick that substituted by paper pulp of the used paper for non-structural perforated brick based on SNI 03-03491989.

The location of brick manufacture is in Batako Kusuma Cibinong Bogor while the experiment is in PUB laboratory of Civil Engineering of UNJ Rawamangun, Jakarta. The study is conducted from December 2014 to April 2015. The material used in this is study made by paper pulp that demolished by blender machine for 10 minutes. The research method used is experiment method by distinguish the volume of paper pulp as 0 percent, 12.5 percent, 17.5 percent from the volume of sand.

The result shows that the average absorption generated from each portion in substitution of 0%, 12.5%, 15% and 17.5% p obtained absorption of 10.16%, 12.06%, 13.82% and 14.52%. The absorption rate of brick as replacement of paper pulp is 17.5% while as minimum absorption value due to absorption graph increased. In addition, for pressure test, the result of the average absorption rate of bricks in every proportion substitution is 0%, 12.5%, 15% and 17.5% as obtained from pressure as 64,36 kg/cm2, 62,58 kg/ cm2, 60,14 kg/ cm2, 58,07 kg/cm2 The pressure of brick as replacement of paper pulp is 12.5% in the optimum value as a result of the pressure value graph reduction.
